"A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky, dangerous animals."

This has been and always will be true, with it becoming more apparent every single day. What started as sightings of UFOs, Bigfoot, The Loch Ness Monster and other supernatural entities such as Ghosts, specters, banshees, demons, all through the ages the Human race has grown further and further from their creator, losing their spiritual connection and becoming unable to fully see the entities that are all around them.

However, in the late 1700's a man by the name of Benjamin Franklin created a new pair of glasses called the bifocals. Though during his testing to create these glasses he tested all types of film and glass, one of which allowed him to see these entities. He kept this invention secret, producing his civilian bifocals for the masses in order to keep these that could see the spiritual presence around them out of public hands.

It was here that the first seeds were laid, originally a highly secretive sect of the Free Masons, reserved for those in high places of power and shared only with those who had the utmost need to know. When it came to the attention of the President, he drafted a bill to create a new clandestine organization. One that would survey the happenings as much as possible and learn how to combat these "Spiritually Enhanced" Individuals.

It wasn't until they were able to see a Quincy (Codename: Athena) in action that they were able to concoct a plan to be able to fight back themselves. They were able to capture a couple of them and through... less than kosher means, obtain information on the technology that they were using in order to reverse engineer weapons, though rudimentary at first they started to get more and more complex as the years progressed.

By the mid 1800's they were able to form the first strike group, comprised completely of American Humans. Originally under the moniker "Project Illiad", it would be renamed later to "The Information Technology Augmented Nation" or "TITAN" for short.
